Introduction

The XLP-iPhone-A5 size material posted below complements the Chinese “My Follower” book by adding romanisation and English, and is currently available in these versions:

• Simplified Chinese + Mandarin Pinyin
• Traditional Chinese + Cantonese Sidney Lau Romanisation

Disclaimer

Remember that the material complements the “My Follower” book—it does not replace it. If a “My Follower” book is available, this material should be used along with it, not instead of it. This material is only meant to help those who are learning Chinese to more quickly become more effective in the Chinese fields.

iPhone/iPod touch, iPad, and Extra Large Print Material

While the regular files use letter size as the paper size, these files named with “XLP-iPhone-A5” use A5 as the paper size, and are especially suited for use on devices such as the iPhone, the iPod touch, and other devices with similarly sized screens. (See the 3-Line Material on the iPhone and the iPod touch page for instructions on how to use these files on an iPhone or an iPod touch.)

When zoomed so that one page fills the entire screen, the material in these files also renders at a good, usable size on the iPad and other devices with similarly sized screens.

These files may also be printed out on letter size paper, resulting in Extra Large Print material. (See the Printing Extra Large Print 3-Line Material page for instructions.)

PDF Link Navigation and Annotation

The PDF files are named with “LN-A” (“Link Navigation-Annotation”) to show that they have been enriched and fortified with bookmarks, links, and annotation support.

PDF bookmarks and links work like web hyperlinks, immediately taking you to the destination linked to when they are clicked or tapped on. This capability makes the files much easier to navigate around in, especially on mobile devices such as the iPhone, the iPod touch, and the iPad. PDF annotation is the ability to add notes or highlighting to PDFs, analogous to margin notes, underlining, etc. on paper printouts. (See the PDF Annotation (Notes & Highlighting) page for more information.)
