Introduction

The material posted below consists of lists of theo. expressions as they have been found to be rendered in the Chinese publications. This version has Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Pīnyīn columns, and dates from Aug. 2006. Files are available with the expressions sorted by Portuguese or by Pīnyīn. Thanks to the ones who helped to make these files available.

This material should only be used as a quick reference, and should not be taken as being authoritative. By now, some of the expressions are in fact out of date. Also, there could of course be errors in the material. If you find anything in the material that needs correcting, please email me to let me know.

Downloading and Opening the Files

To download the files on a PC or a Mac:

• Right-click on the desired download link and select Save Link As..., or Save Target As..., or Download Linked File As..., or something similar depending on your browser.
• Select a folder on your hard drive to save the file to and click the Save button or something similar to proceed with the download.

The files are in Portable Document Format (PDF), and can be opened using the Adobe Reader program, version 7 or above, although I recommend that you use the latest version. This program is free to download, and it runs on a variety of platforms, including Macs. (Mac OS X’s Preview program may be used as well.) This button links to the download page for Adobe Reader:

To download the files on an iPad using GoodReader for iPad:

• In Safari on your iPad, tap and hold on the desired download link and tap the Copy button that appears.
• Switch to GoodReader for iPad.
  • Tap on Web Downloads.
  • Tap on Enter URL. The URL (web address) you just copied from Safari should have been automatically entered into the dialogue box that appears. If not, paste it there now. Tap the OK button.
  • The file should get downloaded into the My Documents > Downloads folder. If you want to move it to another folder,
    • tap on Manage Files,
    • tap the file to select it,
    • tap the Move button,
    • then navigate to your target folder and
    • tap the Move 1 item here button on the lower right.
    • Tap the Done button to return to the normal mode.
  • If you wish, after you launch the file you may use the Crop Margins button to make the content fill out the screen more.
