An Older, Possibly Related Meaning<\/h4>\n

Interestingly, it seems that in the Mandarin New World Translation<\/i> Bible, \u201cqi\u0101ng<\/i><\/span>\n(rifle; gun; firearm [\u2192 [sth. shaped or functioning like a gun | mw for gunshots<\/i>]] | {(short) spear}; dart<\/span>\n\u67aa\n\u69cd\/\u9397<\/span>)<\/span>\u201d is used to mean a \u201cdart\u201d or relatively short spear, while \u201cm\u00e1o<\/i><\/span>\n({(long) spear}; pike; lance<\/span>\n\u77db)<\/span>\u201d, meaning \u201clance; pike; spear\u201d, is used to mean a relatively long spear.
