The term conveys being moved, shocked, or touched. An emotional scene in a movie or news of heroism online often causes netizens to say: \u201cI burst into tears after seeing these defense breaking moments (\u770b\u5230\u8fd9\u4e9b\u7834\u9632\u77ac\u95f4, \u6211\u6cea\u5954\u4e86 K\u00e0nd\u00e0o zh\u00e8xi\u0113 p\u00f2f\u00e1ng sh\u00f9nji\u0101n, w\u01d2 l\u00e8ib\u0113n le).\u201d<br \/>\n\u2014<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theworldofchinese.com\/2021\/12\/internet-slang-terms-that-defined-2021\/\" title=\"The Top Chinese Internet Slang of 2021 | The World of Chinese\">\u201cInternet Slang Terms that Defined 2021\u201d<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I personally have not yet heard \u201c<span onclick=\"plus(this)\"><i>p\u00f2f\u00e1ng<\/i><\/span><span class=\"plusinfo\" onclick=\"minus(this)\">\n(p\u00f2\u00b7f\u00e1ng\n<span class=\"lit\">{break [through]}; destroy \u00b7 defending \u2192<\/span> <span class=\"mt\">[(video games) break through defences | make sb. feel upset\/shocked\/moved\/touched\/etc.]<\/span>\n\u7834\u9632)<\/span>\u201d used in actual conversation, so I don\u2019t have a personal feel for when it may or may not be appropriate to use this expression. Hopefully the above explanations provide some guidance.
